We have communicated that we wanted to expand ccNewsletter with professional functionality for quite some time. And some of you have already asked us what the planned release date for this "ccNewsletter Pro" will be. Well, at the moment we have 2 batches of code:

• ccNewsletter 1.1: with front end viewing of newsletters and revamped back end

• ccNewsletter Pro 1.0: with multiple lists and auto responders

In this blog post let me tell you about our current plans. First off all its important that you realise you should not wait for ccNewsletter Pro. If you need certain functionality now, have a look at the Joomla! Extensions Directory and select a stable extension that has all the options you need.

Despite our best intentions, it proved to be hard to guarantee a steady development of ccNewsletter, and quality support for users if ccNewsletter would remain to be completely free. That is why we have decided to make ccNewsletter "commercial GPL". In this blog post, you can read more about this decision, and what changes can be expected.

The good news is that for now and the foreseeable future there will be a free version of ccNewsletter.

After working on this version for months, it is finally ready to be released! With 40+ issues investigated and fixed, its probably the most stable version of ccNewsletter 1.0.x ever. Time to upgrade!

ccNewsletter 1.0.7 is a bugfix release, also containing the security fix for 1.0.6 which we released last week. You can get it now in the downloads section.

About 4 hours ago we received a report that there was a security issue in ccNewsletter 1.0.5 and previous versions. We immeditaly investigated the claims and could see these where true.

We can now offer you a new version, 1.0.6 which addresses this medium risk security issue. ccNewsletter 1.0.6 is a security release, I urge everyone using a previous version to upgrade as soon as possible. You can download ccNewsletter 1.0.6 from our downloads section here.
