If saving the cciDEAL configuration (Components > cciDEAL > Global configuration) fails, there are a few possible solutions. Try them one by one untill the issue is resolved. If it is not working after the last solution, create a ticket so we can investigate.
Possible ways that saving can fail:
- You could get the error ID_CONFIG_SAVED_FAILURE -OR- Saving configuration failed
- You could get a blank page
- The page would refresh adn say "Configuration successfully saved", but the options are still the same
Changing folder and file permissions
Some times your server/webhosting requires higher file/folder permissions then cciDEAL enabled by default. You will have to increase these folders and files to 755 or 777 (CHMOD) via FTP.
All files and folders that start with "ps_ccideal" in the below location. If your FTP program supports it, select the option to also change the permissions for enclosed/underlying files and folders:
- administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment
If your FTP program does not support changing the persmissions for enclosed files, you will need to change them manually. All files in the folders that start with "ps_ccideal" in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment (select the folder belonging to your iDEAL account to save time!):
- administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/ccideal_abnamro
- administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/ccideal_rabo_lite
- administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/ccideal_rabo_prof
- administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/ccideal
- and all others starting with "ps_ccideal"
Now test if you can save the configuration. If you can, congratulations. If you can not, continue to the next solution.
Removing old iDEAL extensions
Some of our customers are moving to cciDEAL from an old iDEAL extension (like com_ideal). If you are one of those customers, please make sure you completely remove com_ideal. The uninstallation of that extension is buggy, so you need to manually check that evertyhting is done. Ask the developer of com_ideal for assistence or request a manual uninstall explanation.
Now test if you can save the configuration. If you can, congratulations. If you can not, continue to the next solution.
Remove "iDEAL" from Virtuemart Payment Methods
Some times (for whatever reason) our customers added "iDEAL" to the Virtuemart Payment Methods in Components > Virtuemart > Shop > Payment Method List. cciDEAL actually does NOT need this. So there shouldnt be ANY payment method on that location assosiated to iDEAL. Go to Components > Virtuemart > Shop > Payment Method List, and delete any iDEAL payment method.
Now test if you can save the configuration. If you can, congratulations. If you can not, re-install cciDEAL. Test again. If still can't save the configuration, please create a ticket, and tell us you already tried all solutions in this FAQ.
