Yes, you can manually remove everything that has to do with cciDEAL. But be carefull, oif you do not backup your settings and certificates, you will need to search for all those details later! Save yourself some time and write them down first.

To backup, go to Components > cciDEAL > Global configuration and Component > cciDEAL > Bank configuration and write all details down. Then, if you use ING Advanced, Rabobank Professional, login to FTP and go to /administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/. There select the folder for your iDEAL account, and open security folder. There, download priv.pem and cert.cer.

Removing cciDEAL 2.2.x

Step 1:
Uninstall cciDEAL via Joomla! Administrator > Extensions > Install/Uninstall, and should that fail, remove via FTP:

administrator/components/com_ccideal
components/com_ccideal

Step 2:

remove the file administrator/components/security

Step 3:

remove the following language files:
- administrator/language/nl-NL/nl-NL.com_ccideal.ini
- administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_ccideal.ini
- language/nl-NL/nl-NL.com_ccideal.ini
- language/nl-NL/nl-NL.com_virtuemart.ini
- language/en-GB/en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini
- language/en-GB/en-GB.com_ccideal.ini

Step 4

remove some Virtuemart files
- remove files and folders that start with "ccideal" in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/
- also ps_checkout.php and ps_payment_method.php in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/
- all files starting with "ccideal" and store.payment_method_list.php, checkout.thankyou.php, chechkout.paymentradio.php in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/html
- and in your theme list_payment_methods.tpl.php in components/com_virtuemart/themes/your theme name/templates/checkout

Step 5

Use the latest version of cciDEAL and the manual, to re-install cciDEAL.

Removing cciDEAL 2.1.x

If you have an older version of ccIDEAL installed (a version from 2008, 2.1.4 or earlier), you will have to follow the steps as listed below one time before you can install the new version. By doing so you will lose your certificates and stored data. You wouldn’t normally need to undertake these steps and you were able to upgrade without losing all your stored data, but due to license modifications these steps are necessary for versions older than august 2008. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Step 1:
Uninstall cciDEAL. Should the de-install process through Joomla! Administrator > Extensions > Install/Uninstall fail to work, then remove not only the files mentioned below, but also:

components/com_ccideal
