As mentioned in the chapter "Installing (and uninstalling) ccNewsletter", it is important that you have already installed all languages you want to use in the website, before you install ccNewsletter. ccNewsletter will then transfer all supported language files to the correct folder. If you did not install all languages already, install them now, and then re-install ccNewsletter. Your settings will not be lost, but all missing language files will be installed.
ccNewsletter can be fully translated. We try to provide the full translations for at least English and Dutch. It is however possible that translations are not complete because we did not receive them from our translators yet. In that case you will probably see texts like this "ID_MESSAGE1" in the site or administrator where you would expect a text in your language.
In that case it is possible for you to update the language files yourself. You will have to use FTP to download and edit a few files. The ccNewsletter files can be found at:
- language/xx-XX/xx-XX.com_ccnewsletter.ini for the site language file
- administrator/language/xx-XX/xx-XX.com_ccnewsletter.ini for the administrator language file
Be sure to use this format when adding/translating language strings:
A possible easier way to translate an extension, is to download one of the Joomla! translation editor extensions. You can install it in the website where the to be translated extension is installed, and use it to translate the extension via the Joomla! interface, without the need to use FTP.
