Joomla! 3.4 was released in February and it’s a solid update! One of the improvements in the new version is what people like to call “Extension beta testing“. In my extensions you might know this as the “Minimum stability” dropdown in the configuration. I’ve made a little video to show you what the new dropdown is all about, and why it is super smart to set it up.

If you want to know what’s going to be next in ccInvoices, have a look at the below tweets from the last couple of weeks. And actually, if you really want to be up to date… follow me on twitter! I tweet screenshots and updated about new features and improvements a lot faster than I write blogs. So if you want to know what’s going to be new, follow me now!
This article is in Dutch because it’s only relevant to my Dutch customers, don’t feel left out 🙂
Een drukke tijd voor Joomla! liefhebbers in Nederland want de Joomla! dagen komen eraan, er ligt een supermooi magazine over Joomla! in de winkels en eind april is er een bijeenkomst voor Nederlandse Joomla! programmeurs.

Did you expect the only new thing in ccInvoices 2.x to be the addition of recurring invoices?
Well, it’s not! I just completed the revamp of the site “Invoices overview”, among other things. Have a look at these screenshots. These improvements are in ccInvoices 2.0.5, which is a beta and available for both Joomla! 2.5 and Joomla! 3.
I make sure you can use the Bootstrap UI library in Joomla! 2.5 by bundling our own flavour of Bootstrap “ccBootstrap” (Chill Creations Bootstrap) with ccInvoices. It only loads on pages where ccInvoices is used, so you don’t get an unnecessary extra load on your site. It loads jQuery, Bootstrap and Icomoon icons, and is almost identical to the JUI package in Joomla! 3.
As you can see in the release notes in the downloads section, I have been pretty busy with ccInvoices over the last month, making many minor and some larger improvements. You will notice some of them now, and others just allow me to make ccInvoices a more solid and reliable extension in the future.
Once in a while I review the extensions that are supported in cciDEAL to make sure it’s still logical and economically interesting to support implementing iDEAL into them. This is only the second time I have researched this, and this time five extensions will be “dropped”. It’s necessary to do this because a lot changes in our industry in just a few years time.
If you are using ccNewsletter, ccInvoices or cciDEAL on your Joomla! 1.5 or Joomla! 2.5 website, it’s a good time to start planning the move to Joomla! 3 for all websites that are still on older Joomla! versions. Official support for Joomla! 2.5 ends in 2014. Luckily we have a manual that explains how to move our extensions to Joomla! 3.
We will support Joomla! 2.5 in our extensions for the foreseeable future, but because there will be no more (security) updates for Joomla! 2.5, you should start planning and preferably move to Joomla! 3 somewhere in 2015. We will clearly communicate when our extensions drop support for Joomla! 2.5. At the moment I think it will be somewhere in the second half of 2015.
Well, it took some time, but Virtuemart 3 for Joomla! 3 has been released! Read more about this new Virtuemart version in our Dutch blog “Virtuemart 3 en andere Joomla! webwinkels“. In the blog I talk about the best Joomla! version for new webshops and also other things you can consider before you start building a new e-commerce website.
cciDEAL 4.3 and previous versions already supported iDEAL (and other payment methods like Mister Cash) in Virtuemart 3, so you are good to go! But, we have done a lot more in cciDEAL 4.3 and I hope to communicate those improvements soon.
As I previously mentioned, we are doing a few smaller features and improvements in ccInvoices 1.9.10 and after that continue to Recurring Invoices in ccInvoices 2.0. Read more about our plans for ccInvoices in my previous blog post. Here is a quick video of how the ccInvoices interface looks after we gave it a little love.
Recently, I received the question of what kind of updates might be expected for ccInvoices, our Joomla! invoicing extension. This is a very valid question, as I also just realised that ccInvoices hasn’t received as much updates as cciDEAL and ccNewsletter over the last year. This was not on purpose, I just didn’t realise it when we were so focused on cciDEAL and ccNewsletter. So, let me show you what we have planned for ccInvoices!
