Adding Klarna – Klarna (Later, Now, In 3 Parts) to Virtuemart

The latest test of our iDEAL integration was with Virtuemart 4.4.4 x The fastest and easiest way to implement iDEAL is to use a Virtuemart version as close to the above as possible. Also applicable for other payments methods to Virtuemart. Do consult technical requirements below.

Mollie account

  • Go to the Mollie dashboard > Settings > Website profiles > Select the correct profile > Payment methods
  • Enable Klarna as a payment method
  • As soon as Mollie confirms that Klarna Pay is enabled for your account, continue with the setup in cciDEAL

You need to enable just Klarna in your Mollie dashboard.
When consumer selects this option, they will be redirected to the Klarna gateway, where it will be decided what Klarna payment methods (Later, Now , In 3 parts ) the consumer is entitled to based on several factors such as credit score, location, currency, etc.“ All on Klarna’s side FAQ: You get this error
Error executing API call (422: Unprocessable Entity): The payment method is not enabled in your website profile. Field: payment.method.
Means The payment method used is not enabled in Mollie.)

Configure cciDEAL

cciDEAL configuration

  1. Make sure you are using cciDEAL 7.0.4 or higher where you want to use Klarna/Virtuemart
  2. Klarna payment method needs to be created & configurated in Virtuemart
  3. Components > Virtuemart > Shop > Payment methods > Toolbar clicked New
  4. Payment method info tab > Payment name field enter Klarna payment method > set to Yes
  5. Payment description field > Enter Payment method
  6. Payment method > Select VM4 Payment – cciDEAL integration
  7. Shopper group > Note! If you know what you are doing by all means select, if not do not select
  8. Toolbar clicked Save
  9. Open configuration tab
  10. If dropdown Select payment then find & select
  11. Change order statuses to values you require
  12. Click save top right for all changes saved
  13. Klarna payment method enabled in Virtuemart

About order statuses

Orders that are Authorized and Paid at Mollie are “paid” in cciDEAL and the corresponding status in Virtuemart. It used to be that in order to ultimately receive your money, you must change the status of the order to Shipped in the Mollie dashboard, after you actually shipped the order. This is now legacy.

  • Via Mollie API it is possible to send “Shipped” status back to a customer so customer receives an invoice.
  • The status of the order can therefore automatically be change to confirmed when the payment has been authorized.
  • FAQ: Can “Shipping status” be set in cciDEAL extension in the settings for when the order reaches that status, it returns the “Shipped” signal to Mollie so that the order is also completed in Mollie and the status is sent?

Send Shipped status from VM to Mollie (Klarna ) cciDEAL & About order statuses in Klarna in cciDEAL with Mollie

The order status will now be automatically updated in Mollie with cciDEAL. ( as of cciDEAL version 6.0.9)
So after updating the order status to “Shipped” in VirtueMart, a request will now be send to Mollie to complete the order.
Klarna payment method sends shipping data to Mollie and cciDEAL works with Virtuemart shipping method.

Using custom database table to store data

cciDEAL works with VM Shipment.
Now, you intend to use a custom database table to store data for your shipping methods.
As of cciDEAL 6.0.9 the Paalz plug-in is added to the extension, if you chooses to use this above mentioned plugin to use a custom database table to store data.

“Tax per bill” support in Virtuemart

Add support in Virtuemart condition for the case when Virtuemart has the “Tax per bill” option in the tax settings.
For IN3 and Klarna (Later, Now, In 3 parts)
The Tax per bill option programmatically stores the tax amount in another part of the order array, so on the cciDEAL side it is processed and send to Mollie.

Why does Klarna refuse an order?

Klarna runs a risk: they pre-finance the payment. So they make a risk assessment based on the data that is available. This risk assessment is a trade secret, so you will not get to see why a payment has been rejected. You can only see that a payment has been rejected. You can only ask Klarna in general terms whether there is something structural.

Allow customers the option to buy now and pay later within 30 days via Klarna gateway.
Your customers will receive their payment instructions by email after order shipment.

Multicurrency

cciDEAL & ccInvoices uses the Mollie API version 2, which means it supports Mollie multicurrency. You can set up any supported currency in Virtuemart, HikaShop and it will automatically communicate all amounts with those currencies to Mollie.
