Preparations

  • If your website will eventually not be English (default in Joomla!), install the correct language files now.
  • Create a full backup of the website. You can use Akeeba Backup to create a quick one.
  • Install this backup on a temporary test location (not locally) and perform the cciDEAL Platform installation there.
  • Upgrade to the latest version of Joomla!

Installing cciDEAL Platform

You can not use/test iDEAL or cciDEAL Platform on your localhost, you need to test it on a real server. Also, during testing the website should not be in “Offline mode” (Site > Global Coinfiguration > Site Offline), as this will block the iDEAL communication.
Security extensions like Akeeba AdminTools and RSFireWall might block the iDEAL communication. If you use these extensions, please read FAQ #5 for more information.

Installation of cciDEAL Platform is rather easy, and the same as most Joomla! extensions.

  • Download the extension from the cciDEAL Platform downloads on our website
  • Login to your Joomla! website administrator
  • Go to Extensions > Extensions Manager
  • Select browse, in the “Upload Package File” section
  • Find and select the cciDEAL Platform .zip file on your computer
  • Click on “Upload file & Install”
  • cciDEAL Platform should now be installed and visible under Components > cciDEAL Platform

After the installation, please continue with the manual, about adding support for the extensions you want to use.

Uninstalling cciDEAL Platform

If, for whatever reason, you want to uninstall cciDEAL Platform, it can be easily done by following the below steps.

  • Login to your Joomla! website administrator
  • Go to Extensions > Extensions Manager > Manage
  • Find cciDEAL Platform and check the checkbox
  • Click “Uninstall” in the toolbar
  • cciDEAL Platform is now uninstalled. Please note that some files (certificates) and tables in the database are not removed by the uninstall, so you can install cciDEAL Platform again later, without losing that data.
  • After you have removed cciDEAL Platform, we advise also removing the iDEAL plugin or code you added to other Joomla! extensions to add iDEAL support. Check the extensions specific chapter (Adding iDEAL to ….) to know what files you need to update/replace.
