Dutch Joomla!Days 2013

The dates for the Dutch Joomla! Days 2013 are announced! The Dutch community will meet again on the weekend of 20 & 21 April 2013. As a Dutch company we are really happy with this news and are looking forward to being part of the event once again.  The conference is always professionally organised and well worth the investment for Joomla! enthusiasts and professionals.

The presentations by Dutch and international speakers are always very good and you will surely learn new things. I'm pretty sure Joomla 3.0 (probably 3.1 by then) will also get a lot of attention. Also, do not underestimate the value of meeting other Joomla professionals and enthusiasts face to face.

Joomla! 3 extensions

In what might be the best web development news of 2012, Joomla! 3.0 was released last September. The massive undertaking of Joomla extension developers has begun to convert their extensions to this new version. We have also started updating our Joomla! extensions and hope to release beta versions soon. Read on to learn more about the status of our extensions and Joomla! 3.0.

David-Andrew/Chill Creations interviewLast October one of the Dutch Joomla! forums JoomlaNL was looking for a new Joomla! download extension, so I offered them ccDownloads. I was actually expecting that they would decline the offer because they needed a more "heavy duty" solution, and was surprised and happy when they decided our newest extension was exactly what they needed.

From one thing came another, and Wouter from JoomlaNL wanted to interview me. It was a delightful conversation and the result can be found on Joomla!NL (in Dutch) "Extensie-ontwikkelaar: David-Andrew van Chill Creations"

Presentation: how to run a large Joomla! websiteMeet me at the Dutch Joomla! User Group Utrecht this November. On the 12th I'll be presenting an interesting case: "how to run a large business website on Joomla!". Using our website chillcreations.com as an example, I'll show you which extensions are a must have, and how we managed to migrate our website (with thousands of users, tickets and downloads per year) to Joomla! 2.5. Read more about "how to run a large business website on Joomla!".

Migrate ccNewsletter, ccInvoices, ccVAOM, cciDEAL to Joomla! 2.5

If you are using ccNewsletter, ccInvoices or any of our other Joomla! extensions on your Joomla! 1.5 website, it might be a good time to migrate them and the entire website to Joomla! 2.5. Official support for Joomla! 1.5 ended April 2012, and unofficial support that was intended only for security releases ends in September 2012.

Apart from that, we will also be ending support for Joomla! 1.5 in our extensions in September 2012, as we mentioned earlier. Read on to learn how to move on.

ccNewsletter Joomla! 2.5 Newsletter extensionOur popular newsletter extension for Joomla!, ccNewsletter, now supports subscriber groups! Groups are implemented in a very low-friction way, so you will actually enjoy (not) using them. View a demo video of the new functionality below.

ccNewsletter 1.3.x should be very stable. We have just released ccNewsletter 1.3.1 with a bug fix and minor improvements over 1.3.0, and there are no known bugs. If you do encounter an issue or have questions, feel free to submit a support email.
