Preparations

  • If your website will eventually not be English (default in Joomla!), install the correct language files now
  • Create a full backup of the website. You can use Akeeba Backup to create a quick one
  • Upgrade to the latest version of Joomla!

Installing ccNewsletter

Installation of ccNewsletter is rather easy, and the same as most Joomla! extensions.

  1. Download the extension from the ccNewsletter downloads on our website
  2. Login to your Joomla! website administrator
  3. Go to Extensions > Extensions Manager
  4. Select browse, in the “Upload Package File” section
  5. Find and select the ccNewsletter .zip file on your computer
  6. Click on “Upload file & Install”
  7. ccNewsletter should now be installed and visible under Components > ccNewsletter

After the installation, please continue with the ccNewsletter manual, about adding support for the extensions you want to use.

After you installed ccNewsletter it’s possible that you will get the message “JFTP::rename: Bad response”. In that case your folder permissions are not right. Change them to 777 to install the software and after installation you should turn back the folder permissions to 755

Uninstalling ccNewsletter

If, for whatever reason, you want to uninstall ccNewsletter, it can be easily done by following the below steps.

  1. Login to your Joomla! website administrator
  2. Go to Extensions > Extensions Manager > Manage
  3. Find ccNewsletter and check the checkbox
  4. Click “Uninstall” in the top right
  5. ccNewsletter is now uninstalled. Please note that some files and tables in the database are not removed by the uninstall, so you can install ccNewsletter again later, without losing that data.
